"The engagement of Miss Eva Ingersoll Brown, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wallston Hill Brown of 117 East Twenty-first Street, to Lieutenant McNeal Swasey, O.R.C., son of Mrs. Irene McNeal Swasey of 117 West Fifty-eighth Street is announced. Miss Brown is the granddaughter of the late Colonel Robert G. Ingersoll and Mrs. Ingersoll, and is also descended from Captain Parkers of the Minute Men of Lexington Mass. She made her debut in society several years ago, and has since figured prominently in the activities of the younger set. Mrs. Wallace M. Probasco is her aunt. Lieutenant Swasey is a graduate of the Yale Sheffield School, class of 1912, and has just received his commission in the Officers' Reserve Corps. He will be stationed at Camp Upton, Yaphank, L.I. The wedding will take place early in the Autumn."
