Biographical Notes

Although he was the third generation in his family to be named "William Mooser," he signed his name as "William Mooser, Jr.," perhaps because he did not have the exact middle name of his grandfather, WIlliam Sebastien Mooser (1834-1896).

His passport application of 1921 described him as being 6 feet tall, with a high forehead, blue eyes, straight nose, medium mouth, square chin, black hair, dark complexion, and oval face. (See Ancestry.com, Source Citation National Archives and Records Administration (NARA); Washington D.C.; NARA Series: Passport Applications, January 2, 1906 - March 31, 1925; Roll #: 1705; Volume #: Roll 1705 - Certificates: 70876-71249, 01 Aug 1921-01 Aug 1921,accessed 11/23/2017.) His World War I Draft Registration Card also described him as talland slender, having blue eyes and dark hair. (See Ancestry.com, Source Citation Registration State: California; Registration County: San Francisco; Roll: 1544245; Draft Board: 11, accessed 11/27/2017.)
