In 1923, Lindsey maintained his architectural office at 315 South Broadway, Room #327. A year, later he moved to Room #331. In 1910, Lindsey lived at home with his mother, sister and brother at 5310 Monte Vista Street in the Eagle Rock neighborhood of Los Angeles, CA. Three years later, he continued to live in Detroit, at 503 Clairmount Avenue in the city's North End. His mother, Anna Eliza Morrison (1857-1943), a Canadian by birth, entered the US in 1879, according to the US Census of 1910. Anne's parents were both born in Scotland. She married William A. Lindsey, Sr.,(1852-1906), who, in 1900, worked as a teacher. The US Census of 1900 indicated that he had been born in KY in 12/1852, not 1851. George's sister, Cora, who married an Assistant Pastor of the Highland Park Presbyterian Church, D. Clarence Byrd. William lived with George's family in Detroit in 1920 and was also an architect.

His name was often misspelled as "Lindsay."

There was at least one other architect by the name of "George M. Lindsey," one of whom operated in Detroit, MI, in 1920.

His World War I Draft Registration card indicated that Lindsey had been born 01/06/1890 not 1891. The card described him as being of medium height and build, with brown eyes and auburn hair.
