Professional Activities

Yost was a founding member of the Architecture Foundation of Oregon (AFO) in 1981. He was joined by John Matteson, AIA, William Fletcher, FAIA, Brooks Gunsul, FAIA, William Merrit, AIA, Gary Michael, FAIA, Richard E. Ritz, AIA, and Jon Schleuning, FAIA. The firm Yost Grube Hall donated $5,000 to start a scholarship fund administered by the AFO. Four other Portland-based architectural partnerships--BOORA Architects, Skidmore Owings and Merrill (SOM) Portland, SRG Partnership, and Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Partnership--provided complementary funding to form scholarships in each firm's name. In 1979, Yost lived at 2324 SW Vista Drive in Portland. He lived a few doors down from his partner Richard A. Campbell.
