Built at the foot of the San Rafael Hills.

This was a notable two-story Swiss Chalet that housed guests visiting the Pillsbury Family, Minnesotans who wintered in California. In 1872, Charles Alfred Pillsbury (1842-1899) and John Sargent Pillsbury (1827-1901) founded the C.A. Pillsbury and Company, a flour mill that grew into a huge food-processing conglomerate.
