Louis A. Simon (1867-1958), the Supervising Architect of the US Treasury from 1933 until 1939, has been given credit for the design of the US Department of State Building, along with two other architects, Gilbert Stanley Underwood (1890-1961) andWilliam Dewey Foster (1890-1958).
