Building History

Soriano made a specialty of steel-frame houses, this one being planned on one floor. It had a strong interior-exterior connection, requested by the client, a factory owner, Ed Krause. (See Wolfgang Wagener, Raphael Soriano, [London and New York: Phaidon, 2002], p. 182.)

Building Notes

The Krause House won an Award of Merit from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) in 1956.
