The Ford Motor Company Factory occupied 2050-2060 East 7th Street.

Alteration

In beginning in 2015, a large-scale remodeling effort transformed the former Ford Factory into "creative office space." The LA Downtown News stated of this renovation effort: "The redevelopment of the Ford Factory Building in the southern portion of the Arts District continues, with the bulk of construction expected to be finished by the end of September, according to Andrew Neilly of San Francisco-based developer Shorenstein Properties. The project involves turning the five-story edifice into 254,000 square feet of creative office space. Shorenstein bought the 1912 building, along with two nearby structures, in 2014 for $37 million. One of those properties is being turned into a 600-stall parking garage. (See "Project Updates, 15," LA Downtown News, 05/23/2016, p. 16.)
