This branch library was in Lafayette Park;

Austin C. Whittlesey (1893-1950), who once worked in the office of noted architect Bertram Goodhue (1869-1924), designed the De Neve Branch Library in the late 1920s, taking advantage of bond issue money raised in a 1925 election.

L.A. Historic Cultural Monument #452, named 10/17/1989; Whittlesey designed a one-story, brick library with a Mediterranean flavor.

Los Angeles City Historical-Cultural Monument (1989-10-17): 452
