Construction work began c. 07/30/1903 on the construction of Ascot Park. Horse racing began at this track in c. 12/1903. J.W. Allen, a track official, took a trip to the East Coast to select horses for the track, throughbreds, trotters, and pacers in 07/1903. Auto racing came to the track a few years later. Auto racing occurred at four different Ascot Speedways during four time periods in Los Angeles: 1907-1919; 1924-1936; 1937-1942; and 1957-1990. This first track started as a venue for horse-racing, as it was a mile-long oval; later Ascot tracks--purposed for autos racing spectators--tended to be smaller, two of which were half the size.

Demolished. It discontinued racing in 1919.
