Kaufmann and her husband, Kevin Cullen, designed this small environmentally-friendly house for a half-acre lot of theirs in Marin County, CA; it attracted notice, and Lloyd Alter of Royal Home, a Toronto, ON-based manufacturer, decided to put the Glidehouse into production; the one-bedroom model contains 672 square feet and will sell for $81,000; a two-bedroom model costs $161,000 in 2004; Sunset Magazine in Menlo Park, CA, erected a "demonstration version" of the Glidehouse on its property 05/15/2004 as an attraction in its annual Celebration Weekend, a home-products exposition; a 2,000-square-foot deck was added to the Glidehouse for the exposition, and was designed by Peter O. Whiteley designed one for our installation. His 2,000-square-foot deck was made of TimberTech, a wood composite material designed not to rot or warp;
