Building History
The Meyerfeld Family of San Francisco commissioned the renowned Berkeley architect Bernard R. Maybeck, (1862-1957), to design this $36,000 mansion for a location in the Presidio Heights neighborhood of San Francisco. Morris Meyerfeld, Jr., (1855-1935), the President of the Orpheum Theatre circuit, financed the expenditure as a wedding gift to his daughter, Elizabeth Leslie Meyerfeld (1887-1977).
