Building History

Groundbreaking for this stadium took place on 04/19/2012. The Kansas City-based engineering and architectural firm, HNTB, designed the building, working with Seattle-based structural engineering firm Magnusson Klemencic Associates and the general contractor, Turner/Devcon Joint Venture. Cupertino Electric served as the electrical engineering consultant and Hatheway Consulting LLC was the overall project manager.

The San Francisco-based apparel manufacturer, Levi Strauss and Company, purchased the naming rights to the stadium on 05/08/2013 for 20 years at $220.3 million. (It also retained the option of an additional five-year sponsorship period for after this for $75 million.) This money was shared between the City of Santa Clara and the San Francisco 49ers National Football League team.

Building Notes

Levi's Stadium earned a Gold LEED certification in 2014.
