Saint Brigid's Roman Catholic Church #3, rebuilt after the 04/18/1906 earthquake, was dedicated 12/21/1906; The San Francisco Archdiocese closed in it 1994, and a preservation movement germinated after that.

In 1947, the church was enlarged to seat 1,050, up from 750. At the same time, a new entrance, street facade, interior lighting, west wall, and two new sacristies were built.
