Building History

This church was in operation at this address before 1910. In 04/1910, the Los Angeles Times reported: "Judge Wilbur yesterday granted the petition of the First German M.E. Church to mortgage their premises on Olive street, between Fourth and Fifth, for $84,000, to the Security Savings Bank. Of this amount, $54,000 is to be used in enlarging the hospital building; $20,000 for the erection of a church, and $14,000 to pay debts on the congregation."
