Bulding Notes

The Zeller House won an Award of Merit in the American Institute of Architects/Sunset Magazine Western Home Awards for 1963-1964 in the under 2,000-square-foot class. A brochure produced by Sunset of award winners in 1963 stated of it: "This house has a two-story interior space and is oriented toward the water. On a hillside, it directs the view downward from its upper levels, eliminating most of the sky view and sky glare. Light from the glass in the sides balances the light from the glass wall facing the lake. Four levels inside the house adapt to the sloping site and allow separation of activities of adults and children."
