Building History

Chicago translants Charles and Annie Richter commissioned Glendale architect A.F. Priest (1888-1931) to design their retirement residence in Glendale in 1913. The Los Angeles Times noted: "Charles Richter of North Glendale, a retired merchant of Chicago, is putting the finishing touches on a ten-room house costing about $12,000 and which was designed by A.F. Priest." (See "Glendale Advancing," Los Angeles Times, 04/06/1913, part VI, p. 1.)
