Overview

The New Formalist student union building on the San Diego State University Campus, the Aztec Center, opened in early 09/1968. It was planned to accommodate a 17,000-student community, and contained offices for the student newspaper, the Daily Aztec, an alumni relations office, and a restaurant called "Monty's Den." It also had a bowling alley, games arcade, barber shop, grocery store, meeting rooms, craft room, billiards room, and performance spaces. it operated until 2011.
