Ezra Thomas Stimson (1861-1924), son of the wealthy, Canadian-born, lumberman Thomas D. Stimson (1828-1898) and his wife, Achsah J. Spencer (1834-1904), managed the Stimson Mill Company Lumber Yard at East 3rd Street and Santa Fe Avenue in 1895. He dwelled in a residence at 226 West Adams Boulevard.
