Overview

Building History

The Hotel Florence became known as the Hotel Robinson, c. 1904, after Charles W. Robinson bought the establishment. (See San Diego, California, City Directory, 1904, p. 250.)

Alteration

Kathleen Flanigan, in her study of the work of William Sterling Hebbard, Sr., (1863-1930), said of the Florence Hotel:"[Hebbard] remodeled the Florence Hotel with the addition of a third story, the remodeling of the front porch, and the installation of an elevator and various interior changes."
