Overview

Seattle architect Donald M. Wilson (1920-1997) produced this residential design for Dr. Floyd E. Hamstrom and his wife, Anita, near Burlington, WA. The Hamstroms lived in Seattle c. 1953 at 121 Fairhaven Street, and this house may have been originally a weekend retreat. (See Seattle, Washington, City Directory, 1953, p. 560.) It appears that it became a full-time residence after his retirement.

During his life, Hamstrom (1911-2004), a graduate of Ballard High School, owned land in Pierce, Snohomish and Skagit Counties. He married Anita E. Easton (1916-2004) on 12/20/1942, and served on the State of Washington Dental Examiners Board beginning in 1953.

In the early 2000s, Hamstrom resided at the Mountain Glen Assisted Living Facility in Mount Vernon, WA.
