The Wagenblast Building was located on the south side of K Street between 3rd and 4th Streets.

Overview

C.F. Wagenblast commissioned the construction of this building c. 1867. An article in the Sacramento Daily Union said of it: "C.F. Wagenblast has in course of construction a one-story brick building, on the south side of K street, between Third and Fourth. Its dimensions are to be one hundred feet deep by twenty wide. Bowers and Walter are the contractors, and Julius Fiedler the architect. The brick work is expected to be done by the middle of the week, and building will be completed as speedily as possible. John Hector has leased it for a saloon." (See "New Building," Sacramento Daily Union, vol. 34, no. 5198, 11/25/1867, p. 3.)
