Overview

Salinas-based architect Charles E. Butner (1888-1957) designed the wood-frame-and-stucco American Legion Building in Salinas, CA, in 1949. Butner collaborated with Alex F. Carlson, Building Contractor. (See "Construction Contracts Awarded and Miscellaneous Personnel Data," Architect and Engineer, vol. 179, no. 3, 12/1949, p. 42.)
