Building History

The "Hamburger Playhouse" later known as the Majestic Theatre, opened in 11/1908 in the Hamburger Building.

Building Notes

This theatre, referred to in early newspaper reports as the "Hamburger Playhouse," opened in the new, $1,750,000 Hamburger Building, which also housed the Hamburger Department Store, the Main Los Angeles Public Library, and offices in 1908.

R.C. Williams, a dealer in theatre equipment and property, occupied Office 304 in the Majestic Theatre Building in 1931.
