The noted architectural firm of Hunt and Eager produced plans for this wood-frame apartment house for William Wyles. An article in the Los Angeles Times of 07/19/1903 stated: "The plans for a four-story frame apartment building that is to be erected for William Wyles, on the west side of Hope Street, near Fourth, have been prepared by Hunt & Eager, and the contract has been let to John G. and William P. Frankland, for $15,387. The house is to be finished within one hundred working days from July 11." (See ""On Hope Near Fourth," Los Angeles Times, 0/7/19/1903, p. B1.)
