This two-story residence occupied a steep hillside location in San Francisco, CA. It was laid out in an H-plan, with an interior stair hall in the center flanked by courtyards sheltered from prevailing winds. The exterior had a shallowly-pitched gable roof with paired rafters supported by telephone pole posts. All loads were carried by the poles which were chemically treated to achieve an olive-green color. The house had a chalet-like appearance with its walls primarily of glass on its downhill facade. Long balconies stretched the length of this facade.
