Building Notes

It is likely that the Theatre Comique had four separate locations in Seattle between 1876-1904. This second location was in business c. 1880-1881, and the third, c. 1884. (See Eugene C. Elliott, "Appendix I,"A History of Variety-Vaudeville in Seattle, [Seattle: University of Washington Press, 1944], p. 66-67.) Its last location operated for one year, 1903-1904, at 410 South 5th Avenue. The Peoples Theatre, located at 121 South 2nd Avenue, and the Theatre Comique (at 410 South 5th Avenue) had the same owner in 11/1903.
