A web site created by Washington State University described Science Hall's history: "Built in 1899 at a cost of $60,000. Old Science Hall housed the botany and zoology laboratories, and a veterinary operating room that was also used for livestock judging competitions. When Old Science Hall's functions were taken over by New Science Hall in the 1930s, it served for a time as the Arts building and is currently occupied by the Edward R. Murrow School of Communication." (See "The Way We Were,"Accessed 04/25/2012.)
