Members of San Francisco high society formed this polo club in 1906 nearby to their country houses in northern San Mateo County, such cities as Burlingame, San Mateo and Hillsborough, CA. Architect George Howard, Sr., lived in Hillsborough and was a member of the club in 1921-1922.
