Architect Bernard Maybeck (1862-1957) remodeled George Newhall, Sr.'s San Francisco residence at 2340 Pacific Street in 1904. Newhall (1862-1929), an heir to a large real estate fortune, also commissioned a design for a country house in Burlingame, CA, (1905) from Maybeck, although this was not erected.
