The Wing Luke Memorial Museum, later shortened to the "Wing Luke Museum," had its first accommodations in a store building on 8th Avenue South. It stayed in this location until 1987. The museum, organized to honor the Asian-American/Pacific Islander heritage in the Pacific Northwest, honored Wing Luke (1925-1965), the first Asian-American state legislator in WA State.
