Building History

Architect John Paxton Perrine (1886-1972) designed this 2,000-seat theatre for W.O. Harris at an estimated cost of $200,000. The theatre was located within a larger office building that would have 15 retail spaces and 13 office suites.

Associated Theaters managed the California Theatre at its opening on 08/15/1928.

Building Notes

Will Rogers made his final public performance at the California Theatre in San Bernardino, CA, two months prior to his death in an airplane accident.
