Boston, MA-based Beacon Capital Partners bought the skyscraper at 444 South Flower Street in 2003 for $170 million; they sold the property to Broadway Partners Fund Manager, LLC, of New York, NY, over the period 12/2006 to 09/2009.

The venerable Los Angeles architecture firm, A.C. Martin Partners, Incorporated, had their offices in this building, c. 2004.

The Wells Fargo building occupied the site of the celebrated Sunkist Building (Walker and Eisen, 1935).
