Overview

Dorothea Georgine Emile Oben (d. 1903), aka "Madame Lou Graham," arrived in Seattle, WA, from Germany in 1888, and opened a brothel in this building that catered to he political and social elite of the city into the 20th century. She became a favorite of politicians, and earned enough money to become a significant landowner in the city. She passed away of syphilis in her early 40s.

This building was operating in 1905 and was located at 207-221 Washington Street, Seattle, WA, on the southeast corner of what was then 3rd Avenue South and Washington Street. It had three storefronts in 1905 at 207, 219 and 221 Washington.
