The Seatle City Council awarded architects Bindon and Wright a contract to design Fire Station #32 at 4525 44th Avenue SW for $200,000 in 12/1964. "Fire Chief Gordon F. Vickery said the station will extend from 44th Avenue Southwest to Glenn Way Southwest and because of sloping terrain will be two stories in front and three on the rear." (See "City Affairs: Architect Picked," Seattle Times, 12/24/1964, p. 25.) At the same time, Bindon and Wright was also designing Fire Station #40 on the southwest corner of the intersection at 35th Avenue NE and NE 94th Street. Construction on Station #40 was set to begin in 03/1965.
