The San Francisco architectural firm, Appleton and Wolfard, created 8 libraries for the San Francisco Public Library System between 1951-1965. In 2010, 6 of these branch libraries had been restored. Tel: (415) 355-5626;

San Francisco officials sought to tear this library down in 08/2010 in order to provide a new facility for the neighborhood; some preservationists objected to this, saying that the library was an important example of Appleton and Wolfard's work. They hoped to add onto the existing building to create more space.
