Luckman designed this tower, in 2010 the second tallest in Boston, MA, for The Prudential Insurance Company of America (based in Newark, NJ, and later renamed Prudential Financial), as one of its prime real estate investments. For a long time, the giant Gillette Company, created by King Camp Gillette in 1895, occupied almost half (40%) of the tower's space for its corporate headquarters. Luckman designed the Prudential Center with Hoyle, Doran and Berry, Architects of Boston, MA.

The Prudential Center has 52 stories and is 749 feet (228.4 meters) high; it contained in 2010 1.2 million square feet used for retail and office rental purposes.
