This discount department store replaced Seals Stadium whose demolition occurred in 11/1959; the White Front store failed and its space was subdivided into smaller shops. Subsequently, auto dealerships occupied the tract in the 1980s. Later, a large retail shopping center with a Petco Store (once located at 1685 Bryant Street, later moved) stood on the site. This center became known as Potrero Shopping Center, and in 04/2011, it featured an American Automobile Club office, an AT&T Wireless store, Blockbuster Video store, Boston Market restaurant, Chase Bank branch, US Post Office, I Luv Teriyaki and Sushi restaurant, Jamba Juice store, Kragen Auto Parts store, Office Depot, Peets Coffee and Tea store, Ross Dress for Less apparel store, Sally Beauty Supply store, Safeway Supermarket, Wells Fargo Bank branch and Lane Bryant apparel store.

The White Front Department Store was originally across 16th Street from Franklin Square Park. The company began operations in 1959 in Los Angeles, CA, and quickly spread throughout the state in the 1960s and into the Pacific Northwest by the 1970s, but over-expanded in a difficult economy and went out of business by 1975.

Heavily altered or demolished.
