Architects Myron Hunt (1868-1952) and Elmer Grey (1872-1963) created this design for Mrs. H.S. McKee for a site in then sparsely-populated Monrovia, CA. Hunt and Grey operated a successful practice together from 1904-1910.

The McKee House was a Colonial Revival dwelling with a boxy form and a hipped roof. All windows of the front fenestration were arranged in pairs. An elaborate triangular pediment and frieze highlighted the front porch, the main entry located behind two Ionic columns placed in antis.
