Overview
The San Francisco architectural firm of Sanders and Wright designed this building for the Toland Medical School, opened in 1884.
Building History
Dr. Hugh Huger Toland (1806-1880) opened the second medical school, the Toland Medical School in San Francisco, CA, in 1864, a facility rivalling Dr. Elias S. Cooper's slightly earlier University of the Pacific Medical Department established in 1858.
