Plans for a 4-story bank building had been drafted by architects, Edelman and Barnett, in late 1911. The Los Angeles Daily Journal wrote on 12/13/1911: "Plans by architects Edelman & Barnett, of Los Angeles, for a 4-story bank building; location given as 6th and Palos Verdes, San Pedro." (See Los Angeles Daily Journal, 12/13/1911, p. 2, col 1.) It does not appear that this bank was erected until 1920. The Southwest Builder & Contractor, reported in its 03/05/1920 issue: "Plans by architects Edelman & Barnett, of Los Angeles, for a building to cost about $150,000; location given as southwest corner of 6th & Palos Verdes, San Pedro." (See Southwest Builder and Contractor, 03/05/1920, p. 16, col 3.) A building permit was granted c. 06/10/1920.
