When Throop Polytechnic Institute erected its new building, Throop Hall, in 1911-1912, this early campus was abandoned. It was rented out for a time in 1910s and demolished the following decade.

Caltech originated as Throop University (1891-1892); the school altered its name to Throop Polytechnic Institute (1893-1912) and subsequently to Throop College of Technology (1913-1919), before formally re-naming itself the "California Institute of Technology" in 1921.

Demolished in the 1920s.
