The Fairley Building stands over a steep hillside that separates Pike Place from Western Avenue.

At the City of Seattle's discretion, developer Frank Goodwin built this addition to the Pike Place Market architectural group in 1914. The building occupied the hillside between Pike Place and Western Avenue.

Andrew Willatsen designed some alterations in the Fairley Building's early days.
