The KPMG Building was finished in 03/2002; the accounting firm pre-leased 40% of the building's sqaure footage; other early leasees included Paul Hastings, UPS and the Preston Gates and Ellis LLP law firm. In 09/2004, Myers Development Company sold the KPMG Building to Hines-Sumisei U.S. Core Office Properties.

Standing 26 stories tall, the KPMG Building contained 385,000 square feet of office space, with an additional 5,000 square feet of retail space. The newspaper, the San Francisco Business Times, named the it the "Best New Office Building of 2002" in the city. The tower features a connection to the renovated 1898 U.S. Post Office located next door.
