This was one of the 12 Manning's, Incorporated, Coffee Shops located in Seattle, WA. The chain originated at the Pike Place Market in Downtown Seattle. According to a Seattle Times article of 09/14/1930, Manning's contracted with architect R.C. Reamer to erect a new, one-story retail building, 108 x 40 feet, at 6545 University Way, NE. Reamer's design would accommodate one new Manning's site and one other retail space, and was to cost approximately $15,000. (See "Store Structure to Cost $15,000, Seattle Times, 09/14/1930, p. 5.)
