This was one of three large properties controlled by Angus P. Malloy and his family in the University District in the 1920s. The others included the Adelaide Malloy, and the Malloy Manor Apartments. In 2010, Paul C. and Barbara Stephanus owned the building, whose land and improvements were valued at $14,225,000.

This brick building, covering a 12,360-square-foot lot, had a U-Shape, to maximize light in the largest number of apartments. The entry faced east, toward the University across the street, in the middle of a landscaped courtyard. Roberts designed a roof garden to allow views to Lake Union and the campus. The Malloy contained 93,502 gross square feet, 75,786 net. In 2010, it had 123 apartments, each averaging 616 square feet.

Renovations occurred to the building in 1990.
