This 13-story, $100 million administrative building was built between 2006-2007, and was erected to consolidate King County offices dispersed among private office buildings around Downtown Seattle, WA. It is located just south of the previous King County Administration Building #2, finished in 1971 by Dietrich, Harmon and Pray, Architects. In 2010, the Chinook Building housed the following King County agencies: , the Department of Community and Human Services, Finance Division, Office of Information and Resource Management, and Public Health (a combined effort of King County/City of Seattle), and others.

According to the King County web site: "The Chinook Office Building is a 13-story office building with a capacity of over 1400 employees once all move-ins are complete. The Chinook Office Building is in the process of seeking a Gold LEED rating for the core and shell and a Platinum LEED rating for the interior spaces." (SeeAccessed 04/04/2010.) In 2010, the Chinook Building covered a 28,320-square-foot (0.65-acre) parcel. It contained 372,242 gross square feet, 303,939 net.
